P-Olivier CHAPUIS - CNRS research scientist

I am a full researcher and I have no duty to teach, but I enjoy doing it.

I mainly teach at Institut d'Optique Rhône-Alpes (IORA), on the campus of Saint-Etienne. Occasionally, I am mentor for students of the Department of Energetics and Environmental Engineering at INSA. When open, I also participate to a programme of continuing education on "heat transfer at micro and nanoscales" at INSA.

Institut d'Optique - Rhône-Alpes

I take part in the curriculum related to "Image, Energy, Lighting". Before entering IORA, the students have generally spent two (or three) years in classes préparatoires and a first year in the headquarters of Institut d'Optique in Palaiseau (Paris-Saclay campus). The lectures below can also be part of the Master OIV curriculum for the students of Institut d'Optique.

INSA Lyon

Students enter INSA directly after high school.

Fourth and fifth years

• I can be a "tutor" for students who make internships (usually abroad). These internships are part of their curriculum in the Department of Energetics and Environmental Engineering. I also advise occasionally student's projects.

Continuing education

• A programme on has been developed for engineers and executives in the frame of INSA's sister company devoted to continuing education INSAVALOR. This 3-day programme aims at presenting the novel thermal phenomena that can happen in nanotechnology-related devices and materials. One day is devoted to heat conduction, another one to thermal radiation and the last day is dedicated to thermal metrology. This programme has been set up by the researchers of the Microscale and Nanoscale Heat Transfer (MiNT) Group. I am in charge of the first day, where heat conduction is tackled.

Past

Ecole Centrale Paris

I was an assistant at the Department of Physics (2004-2007), for which I was teaching in labs and for few directed works. I also used to be a tutor for last-year projects of the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.

Lycée militaire Saint-Cyr

I have been examiner for weekly oral one-hour tests (khôlles) in Physics for students in the second year of the classes préparatoires (2004-2005).
